This is an important time for humanity, perhaps a most pivotal one. There are more people than ever before identifying with spiritually aligned and integral choices for themselves and the planet. Yet, there are virtually no structures and processes in national or global society to encourage and nourish this new consciousness in a material way. A new type of social movement is needed to help give voice and material expression to a new generation of social movement.
Decade of the Heart 2003-2012 places the awakening of our hearts in the forefront of every person, community, and nation as a gift for all humanity. This act of service encourages people of all cultures and beliefs to embrace their oneness and diversity. It provides the social "permissions" to express and create new structures and processes based on this higher consciousness in ways that have not previously been widely experienced -- a worldwide network inspired to encourage a culture of forgiveness, creativity, and compassion.

Through the use of mass media, websites, model initiatives and co-creative partnerships, this global network will assist organizations and communities in building their own heart-centered networks and activities. Fundamentally, Decade of the Heart offers a grand context for individuals, from all possible situations in society, to embrace a unifying consciousness that can successfully embrace diversity. Decade of the Heart offers individuals new opportunities for connection and service and for creating a positive future. As it also relates to localized conditions, it can contribute to creating a healthy, global society of humankind guided by an enlightened awareness of and respect for the interconnection of all life and discernment with compassion.
