The New America Papers underscores a need and desire among Americans to establish new patterns for healing, learning, communication, organization, finance, and leadership. By working together, we can create a vital and practical bridge between our present situation and our higher aspirations as human beings. Going beyond sophisticated and advanced research, we have identified specific strategies and initiatives, including:
- National and global approaches to social, economic, environmental, and political issues.
- An emphasis on values, actions, and integrity of leadership among those who seek or hold public or private office.
- A shift of focus from the lowest common denominator to the highest common denominator by listening to, identifying with, and acting upon shared aspirations.
- A cooperation-based paradigm that serves and nourishes everyone through wise stewardship of the global environment and a more enlightened approach to all facets of human society.
As a summary, this short treatment of The New America Papers cannot substitute for the comprehensive detail of the full-length text. Our findings and proposed strategies will prove invaluable to those who wish to lead, influence, persuade, or draw upon the energies of the American people to achieve a common goal. It is our hope that many organizations and individuals will be encouraged by the inspiring insights from the American public that are given voice in this study. (We ask the readers' forbearance in our use of the term "Americans" as a matter of convenience to refer to U.S. households. It is not our intent to slight other members of other countries in the Americas.)
More so than at any time in our history, we have the ability to break through the barriers of our currently limited, conventional systems to clearly envision the possibilities of our true nature and capacities. This is the time for humanity to see itself in a greater light, to search out new strategies and initiatives that aid in creating something new that is more closely aligned with our highest aspirations.

The New America Papers is the first full-length book that reveals a positive and radically different view of American society and addresses leading-edge political and social strategies. It is structured in 4 parts:
Part One is an overview of the In Our Own Words 2000 research characterizing the current social and voting environment in the U.S. and includes a lexicon that clarifies specific vocabulary used throughout the book.
Part Two: Social and Political Change has additional highlights on our current socio-cultural situation and global evolution, and discusses a roadmap of strategies and initiatives toward creating a more positive future.
Part Three: A New Look at the American Electorate is an overview of the research findings showing core values and beliefs of American citizens relative to their voting intentions, as well as how those findings correlate with the 17 specific themes explored in the IOOW-2000 study.
Part Four includes more in-depth overviews of two previously introduced initiatives: Decade of the Heart, a new type of social leadership initiative, and The Global Interchange, a strategic Internet-based initiative. Also included are research notes and background and contact information.
The book's table of contents, shown on page 39, gives a bird's-eye perspective of the depth and substantive import of the IOOW-2000 research.
