What if it were possible to identify strategies that could bring an overwhelming majority of Americans into a new form of social and voting participation?
We may be closer than most people think toward choosing to create a positive future. General social and political strategies are outlined in The New America Papers that address both social and political initiatives. The political and social strategies are at once independent and closely connected with one another, since one without the other would create an imbalance that could derail a positive future agenda.
What if a political strategy emphasized the values, actions, and integrity of leadership for those seeking or holding office?
This would not focus on an alternative party for its own sake but, rather, on ways to connect constituents and leaders, regardless of party affiliation, who are willing to stand for a positive future with integrity and resolve. This does not mean, however, that a new party embracing positive future values and positions is undesirable. On the contrary, a new party that stands for an awakened world could play a valuable and influential role, as long as voters or party members are not forced to choose along party lines.
What if a social strategy lays a framework that, from the start, unites people who are already playing a role in creating an awakened society with many more who resonate with this at all levels of society?
This strategy would also unite both the religious and secular and, in so doing, energize people to rise to the occasion of creating an awakened world. One such social strategy, Decade of the Heart 2003-2012, offers the possibility of diverse, practical and social expressions of our highest aspirations at all levels in society. Its initial campaign is guided by the understanding that forgiveness is an important avenue to a global awakening, freeing us to connect with our highest potential.
