A New Potential
Focusing on Our Past
It is vitally important that we not focus on our past and the disparities that so often divide us as individuals, as communities and cultures, but focus instead on our highest and most heartfelt aspirations, which can move us toward a more positive future. |
To inspire people to achieve a higher calling as individuals and as a society -- politically, economically, personally -- it is crucial to understand our values and core beliefs and how we relate to one another. With this understanding, it is possible to shift the conciousness of a society as large and seemingly complex as that of the United States.
You hold in your hands a summary presentation of The New America Papers, which introduces an original and significant analysis of Americans on the threshold of a new millennium.
The analysis is based on a three-year research project commissioned by the Foundation for Global Awakening and Fund For Global Awakening to explore the social and spiritual conciousness of Americans and to identify scientific evidence for a greater unity within our diversity. This landmark study, In Our Own Words 2000 (IOOW-2000), was conducted by an accomplished, professional research team. Its results are presented in The New American Papers, to be published in an extensive, full-length text for release late in 2003.
The research confirms that our diverse population has:
- A strong sense of connection that encompasses a personal connection to one another, a connection with creation and nature, and a connection with the cosmos and higher consciousness.
- A desire to help others, to support nations helping nations, and to make a difference in the world through service for the greater common good.
- A belief in the sacred interconnectedness of all life, a widely encompassing spirituality that goes beyond traditional religious practices, and belief in a global awakening of humankind to a higher consciousness.
Many of these principles apply universally, in spite of national and cultural differences throughout the world. Based on this evidence, we are proposing the potential for a positive future society in the present that promotes social and spiritual awakening by employing discernment with compassion to innovate positive change.
