his is an important time for humanity, perhaps a most pivotal one. There are more people than ever before identifying with positive, spiritually aligned and integral choices to heal themselves and the planet. Yet, there are virtually no structures and processes in national or global society to encourage and nourish this new consciousness in an organized and demonstrable way.

Recent research in America demonstrates that a sense of the sacred, while not directly linked to the observance of a recognized faith, is experienced as ever-present in daily life. It is true that many people and organizations are making contributions to various facets of global awakening, but there is yet to emerge a coherent and stable nexus of leadership or coordination.

A new type of social movement is needed to help give voice and material expression to a new generation of social movement like the earlier spiritually-based, peaceful, non-violent approach to addressing and reconciling differences championed by Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., in America in the 1960s and Mahatma K. Gandhi decades earlier in India.

A new set of spiritually aligned leaders – young and old – need to be encouraged and assisted in every way. A refashioned fabric for human society – a new infrastructure purely intended to facilitate in every way possible an emerging new consciousness and to materially aid the manifestation of a more positive and compassionate future – is most needed now.

Even a modest number of spiritually aware leaders, when working in a more balanced and unifying alignment and with a coherent and focused purpose, has the potential to produce some very powerful results – results that could catalyze many more who are truly looking for a new way forward.

To sustain a world for the highest good of all, one must first acknowledge the truth and wisdom connecting us all. This is the time for humanity to see itself in a greater light, to search out new strategies and initiatives aiding in creating something new that is more closely aligned with our highest aspirations. Two such initiatives – Decade of the Heart and The Global Interchange – encapsulate this future-present intention of which both are thoroughly supported by the findings and insights of the IOOW-2000 research.
