Where We're At

We may be at the threshold of nothing short of a profound change in the evolution of human consciousness, and the creation of new societal structures and processes to facilitate a social and spiritual awakening beyond anything previously experienced in history. (Although this book focuses on data from the U.S., much of what is put forth has broad implications for all of humanity. Future research will include other countries.)

There is the potential for a positive future society in the present that promotes social and spiritual awakening by employing discernment with compassion to innovate positive change. By working together, we can create a vital and practical bridge between our present situation that will lead to realizing our higher aspirations as human beings. Yet, our political, economic, and social institutions continue to actively support and passively accept a paradigm based on conflict and domination favoring those who hold power over these institutions. Their power is based on separation, fear, and domination.

• How can we overcome thousands of years of conflict and transcend our species' past and present behavior that arises from humanity's limited perspective based on fear and survival, and which is focused on gaining dominance over one another and over nature?
• How can we move beyond the self-imposed constraints of the individual self, communities and cultures, religions, nationalism, and other manifestations and projections of our collective ego-personalities that has led to a long history of cultural, political, and religious conflict?
• How can we appeal to a deeper wisdom residing in each of our hearts and higher minds and find a way that appeals to the collective higher nature of the human race?

Has it ever been clearer than at the present time that we cannot afford not to? We believe the answer may be as simple as the need to embrace it is urgent.
